Application Options  

You choose how to become a Lancer.  Choose the option that best fits your needs! 

Lancer XD – Expedited Decision – Receive your admission decision in 3 weeks or less

Now... Enter your courses, course grades and SAT/ACT score to receive an expedited decision.

Later... Submit official transcript and test score when you enroll.  

To receive an accelerated decision enter the grade level, course title, academic level, and grade earned for ALL courses taken in grades 9, 10, and 11 and SAT/ACT score.  Once you submit your application, we have all the information we need to render a decision.  Additional information may be requested.  If admitted, official transcript and test core required prior to attending summer New Lancer Orientation. 

Step 1:  Apply. Complete your online application, entering your transcript and test score information. 

Step 2:  Satisfy.  Nonrefundable $50 application fee or fee waiver. 

Waiver options: 

  • ACT waiver
  • College Board (SAT) waiver
  • Financial Hardship – If satisfying the application will cause a financial hardship for you and your family, completed the “financial hardship” section on the payment of page of the application.

Helpful hint…  Before you begin, access your:  

  • High school transcript
  • SAT/ACT score

Sorry… International students not eligible to participate in Lancer XD. 

Lancer Classic – Standard Decision – Receive your admission decision in 6 – 8 weeks 

Elect not to enter your high school course information while completing the application.  After submission, send your high school transcript and SAT/ACT score.  A decision cannot be rendered until both are received.  Unofficial copies of both can be considered to determine admissions.  If admitted, official transcript and test core required prior to attending summer New Lancer Orientation.

Step 3:  Send.  High-school transcript and test scores (SAT/5368 or ACT/4366). Scores included on the high-school transcript will be accepted. 

For both Lancer XD and Lancer Classic, not required but beneficial

  • Essay or Personal statement (required for nursing majors)
  • Letters of recommendation

 

Admissions Options

Early Decision Admission (Nursing only)

Longwood offers Early Decision Admission to freshman applicants interested in Nursing entering the fall semester. 

To be considered for Nursing, application and admission documents must be received and/or postmarked by November 1. Candidates will be notified by mid-December of admission decision. If admitted, a financial aid package estimate will be provided along with acceptance notification.   The offer of admission is binding. 

Students not selected for Early Decision Nursing opportunity will have the opportunity to be considered for Early Action Nursing opportunity and/or regular admissions to the university with another academic major selection.  

Early Action Admission

Longwood offers Early Action Admission to freshman applicants entering the fall semester. 

To be considered for Honors, Nursing and remaining academic majors, application and admission documents must be received and/or postmarked by December 3. The offer of admission is non-binding. Students not selected for Nursing will have the opportunity to be considered for regular admissions to the university with another academic major selection.  

Regular Admission

Longwood offers Priority Admissions to freshmen and transfer applicants who apply by February 1 (fall) and November 1 (spring) for special admission and scholarship consideration. 

To be considered, applications must be received and/or postmarked by February 1 (fall) or November 1 (spring)

Nursing applicants are not eligible to apply as Regular Admission.
