The Alumni Awards program recognizes alumni for their outstanding achievement and service to others. If you would like to nominate one or more alumni, please complete the following form. Nominations are accepted at any time of the year.
The alumni award program is a reflection on the history of Longwood University, as well as a singular tribute to the accomplishments of the honorees. Four of the awards are named after the four men whose portraits are featured on the Rotunda dome paintings and the fifth award is named for the area in which the dome is located. The sixth and seventh awards are new to the alumni award program, both are named after alumnae that have contributed significantly to Longwood and its alumni programs.
William Henry Ruffner Alumni Award is the highest and most prestigious award bestowed by the Alumni Association. It recognizes alumni who have achieved outstanding success and national distinction in both their personal and professional life—the embodiment of the Citizen Leader.
