“Gender and Professional Advancement: Using Unique Characteristics to Your Professional Advantage”
Sharyn Abernatha, Longwood University Alumnus
3pm, Greenwood Library 209A & B
If there's one belief on which all Longwood students seem to agree, it's that the answer to “Why are you at Longwood?” is “To get a job.” But how can one accomplish career goals in a world of gender disparity in pay and advancement? What strengths can our Longwood students share with employers as they venture into the workforce. Well, WGS has the answers! Please join Women's and Gender Studies in welcoming Longwood alumnus and former Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Cal-State Chico, Sharyn Abernatha, who will share her varied experiences as a labor relations manager and executive and offer Longwood students important advice on how to manage their future careers.
Faculty, please encourage student attendance for this event.
The programs are free and open to all LU campus and Farmville community members. We look forward to seeing you at this event.
