The College of Graduate and Professional Studies is pleased to announce they will be hosting several hundred educators from Region 8 and surrounding areas for a Summer Institute. On June 25th and 26th these educators will be attending Balanced Literacy, Performance Based Assessments, Word Study and Elementary and Secondary workshops! Please welcome them as they utilize large portions of Maugans Alumni Center and Blackwell Hall from 9-3 and as some make their way to Moton Museum on the 26th! The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts(LCVA) invites you to join us this summer to explore and create beautiful works of art inspired by some of your favorite children's literature, both old and new! Open weekdays from June 11 through August (closed July 4), the Summer Art Studio program is bringing popular children's books to life through art. This program features kid-friendly art activities for children of all ages. Drop in any time between 11:00am–2:00pm at the LCVA. Summer Art Studio also features little artists areas for children ages 4 and younger. This program is free and open to the public.
