New Lancer Days Tailgate 

Saturday, August 19 at 9:00 pm in Willett Hall 

Come join Lancer Productions and the rest of Longwood's community to celebrate your first Saturday at Longwood. We will have an inflatable obstacle course and a grand slammer! There will be a glow dance party in Willet Hall sponsored by FSL. We will also have Mini-golf in the Library! Come on out for a great time!

Last Dash Before Class!

Sunday, August 20 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Farmville Walmart (1800 Peery Dr)

Join the University Center and Student Activities and First Year Experience as we take over Walmart! Current Longwood students can win Walmart gift cards (a total of $1,000 will be given away). Shuttles will be available from 3:30pm-8:30pm leaving from Greenwood Library. Refreshments will be available at Walmart.

First Friday Back and The G.A.M.E. are Back!

Friday August 25, 2017 starting at 3:30 pm on Stubbs Mall (between Lankford Student Union and Stubbs Hall)

Wristbands will be distributed beginning at 3:30pm behind the Lankford Student Union. Once you have the wristband you will be guaranteed a scarf. There will be novelties, food, music and much more.

The rally begins at 5:30pm, followed by the scarf distribution and the march to the soccer game to watch the men play VMI at 7pm. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Susan Sullivan at  sullivansm@longwood.edu  or ext. 2107.

Citizen Leadership Institute Launch Party

Wednesday, August 30 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the CHI Fountain on Brock Commons

Are you interested in learning more about how to be a Citizen Leader at Longwood? This Fall we are launching the Citizen Leadership Institute for those Longwood students who are wanting to make a positive contribution to the common good of society, while also meeting and interacting with their fellow Lancers and the Farmville community. Health and Fitness Center 10 th Anniversary Celebration!

Thursday, August 31 from 12:00 pm (noon) to 7:00 pm in and around the Health and Fitness Center

Come out to celebrate ten healthy and amazing years with the Health and Fitness Center on campus! There will be plenty of activities throughout the day as well as opportunities to learn more about getting involved on campus. Did we mention raffles? Come out to win prizes like Lancer Cash, bonus bucks, Spring Parking Pass, a home workout kit, Barnes and Noble gift cards, and more! Check out what is happening below!

Events and Activities

10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Come out to the Wellness Fair learn more about wellness opportunities on campus and in the area. This is a great opportunity to learn how to keep your mind AND body in shape for the academic year. Students, Faculty, and Staff are welcome to also connect with the University’s vendors to learn more about campus benefits information! Participate in fitness demos to earn raffle tickets for prizes!

12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Relax and experience some tranquil wellness exercises. There will be an opportunity to receive an Aqua massage, become familiar with an Oxygen Bar, and have a Paraffin Wax experience. These and many other opportunities can be yours by coming by!

2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Get moving and have some fun! Learn and experience Log Rolling and Slacklining with other students on campus. There will also be a setup of the amazing past time of Disc Golf! We can’t forget about the fun to be had with the free photobooth with your friends or the selection of awesome inflatables!

4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Come out to the Involvement and Volunteer Fair (see later on in this email for more information)

4:45 pm

The honorary birthday cake cutting will occur with some great words of wisdom and support from campus leadership.

10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Enjoy free healthy snacks to try and the Longwood University Food Truck will be open for purchasing lunch options!

12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Free smoothies are available to help give you the boost you need for the day!

5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Come out to the 10 th Anniversary Celebration Picnic! The Dining Hall will be closed but your meal swipes will be good here! This awesome picnic experience will have you wanting to go back for seconds!

Sunday, September 10 at 9:00 am on Madison Street by Heating Plant.

Bus will leave Longwood at 9am and return following the game. Game begins at 1:35pm

The cost is $25 and that includes the bus ride, ticket to the game and a $10 food voucher.

Volunteers will assist with game day event staff needs. *Game end time is subject to change depending on length of game. Volunteers needed for Farmville High Bridge Half-Marathon & 5K

Thursday September 7 th  - Saturday September 9 th  in Downtown Farmville

Interested in earning volunteer hours? We are looking for volunteers to help with runner check-in, setup, water stations, the finish line, etc for the 5th Annual High Bridge Half-Marathon and 5K. There is a volunteer meeting on August 24 th  at 6pm at the Farmville Visitor Center that we are asking volunteers to attend.
