Lancer Card - ID Photo

Example Lancer CardAll Longwood University students, faculty and staff are required to have a Lancer Card, our Longwood ID. We use it for important services, including:

  • Building access
  • Meal plan and Lancer CA$H purchases
  • Athletic events 
  • Virtual Id for Meal Plan

Snap Your Selfie and Submit!

You'll need your LancerNetID & password, an approved photo, and a government-issued Id.

Your Lancer Card will be available for pick up when you move in. 

Submit your photo and we'll get to work on making your ID.

Submit Your Photo

  • Log in using your LancerNet ID and password (Activate your LancerNet ID)
  • Select "Upload Your Photo" option on the menu
  • Browse for the photo in your files that you will use (see photo requirements below)
  • Click photo to begin cropping or rotating
  • Click upload
  • The image will be displayed as it will appear on the card.  
  • We cannot accept an image that is cut off.  Please resize, or choose a new photo, and resubmit.
  • If you click "upload" and nothing happens, then the photo is too large or not a jpg.  Try resizing and resubmitting.

Your Lancer ID is a valid, state-issued photo ID card and subject to certain rules and regulations.

Additional Photo Requirements

  • Color Photo
  • 300 x 400 pixels
  • At least 15KB and less than 1MB
  • JPG format
  • No profiles. Look straight ahead
  • No group photos
  • No hats or sunglasses

 

  • No car photos
  • No Snapchat filters
  • No proofs OR pictures of pictures
  • Background must be a light solid color
  • Derogatory photos will be deleted
  • Keep a small space between the top of your head and the top of the image
  • The picture must clearly identify you

Photo Review Process

Photo submissions are reviewed manually and can take up to two business days to be processed.

You will receive an email letting you know whether your photo was accepted or rejected.

  • If your photo is rejected, please correct any issues and resubmit or choose a different photo.
  • If your photo cannot be used, or you do not meet the deadline, we can take your photo in the Lancer Card & Campus Services when you're on campus.

Pick up your Lancer Card

Your Lancer Card will be available for pick up when you​ visit campus for Orientation this summer. Just be sure to submit your photo at least two days before your scheduled Orientation session. Cards not picked up during Orientation can be picked up when you arrive to campus in August. 

You'll need to present a valid photo ID to pick up your Lancer Card. 

Valid forms of ID:

  • State driver's license
  • State-issued identification card
  • Military-issued identification card
  • Valid U.S. or foreign-issued passport (showing country of origin)
  • Permanent Resident Alien Card
  • Certificate of U.S. Naturalization
