Longwood’s club baseball team wrapped up their most successful season ever with a third place finish at the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) Division II World Series.  Hosted at Jaycee Park in Pittsburg, Kansas, Longwood finished their tournament with a 3-2 record.  Longwood lost their opening game to #1 seed California University of Pennsylvania 4 – 2 but came back through the losers bracket with back to back wins.  First beating South Dakota State University 6 -0 then sending California University of PA home with an 11 – 7 victory.  In the final four round, Longwood needed to beat host and #3 seed Pittsburg State University twice.  Longwood won the first game 4 – 3 but could not complete the sweep when their run came to an end with a 6 – 1 loss to Pittsburg State.

Pittsburg State went on to lose the championship to San Diego State University by a score of 13-10.
