2024 Subject Areas

Undergraduate scholarly research is one of the most important things you can do to distinguish yourself from other students applying to graduate schools, professional schools, and post-baccalaureate employment.

Discipline of Interest

Due to the early nature of the application process this year, you need to provide your discipline of interest rather than choosing a faculty mentor. The faculty mentors will still choose student researchers much like the process in the past, but we will be using your qualifications and discipline(s) of interest to pair you up with other possible summer opportunities.

The 2024 program looks to fund 12 traditional seats in the program within various Longwood STEM-H fields, as described by the original SCHEV initiative, such as

  • Biology
  • Biological Environmental Sciences
  • Physics
  • Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Math
  • Computer Science
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Political Science
  • Kinesiology

Funding

There is external funding for five other science and math educational students.

PRISM will be pairing with outside organizations to bring internships or external research opportunities to our students.

Funding Application Instructions

Indicate whether or not you are interested in any other PAID summer opportunities.
