Family Weekend Intro

We hope you will be able to join us at Longwood for Family Weekend 2017. There are a variety of events taking place throughout the weekend.

Note: Family Weekend is not funded by state funds, tuition or state fees. Family Weekend is an independent and self-supporting activity for families and friends of the University.

Registration will open on June 7 and close on Wednesday, September 13. If you would like to register, we will have registration at Rock the Block from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, September 15 (look for the balloon arch).

Saturday registration is from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Lankford Student Union.

Registration

  • June 7-July 31 - $25 per person
  • August 1-September 7 - $30 per person
  • September 8- September 16 - $35 per person

Guests ages 5-12 and guests over 65 receive a $5 discount.
Students do not pay a registration fee.

  • Continental breakfast
  • Picnic lunch and activities
  • All workshops
  • Fun Run, Walk & Roll
  • All registration materials

 *Friday dinner and Sunday brunch are not included in the registration fee.

  • Saturday night entertainment “The Evasons” -$5
  • Wine Tasting- $20 per person (cash bar will also be available)

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I park for Family Weekend?

You are allowed to park anywhere on campus as long as it is not a reserved parking space.

Do I need to include my student in the count for Family Weekend?

Do NOT include your student in the count for Family Weekend. The only time you need to include your student in the count is if they would like to participate in the Golf Tournament and/or Wine Tasting (only if the student is over 21).

Do I have to register for Family Weekend or can I just spend the day with my student?

If you would like to spend the day with your student and not participate in any of the Family Weekend activities - that is ok.

How much do I pay for meals if I want to pay for meals individually when I get there?

Individual meals will cost you between $8.50-$15.00 per person per meal.

Can I register when I get there?

Yes - there will be a registration table on Friday Night at Longwood Landings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Then on Saturday there will be a registration table in the Student Union from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What does the registration fee pay for?

The registration fee pays for registration materials, all activities unless otherwise noted, Friday Night events (not including dinner), Saturday workshops and activities, and Saturday Continental Breakfast, Fun Run, Walk & Roll and Saturday Picnic Lunch and Entertainment. Family Weekend is not funded by State Funds, Tuition or State Fees. Family Weekend is an independent and self-supporting activity for families and friends of the University.

Are pets allowed?

We recommend not bringing your pet. It is a very busy weekend and there are a lot of people around.
