Marianne Radcliff ’92, a six-year veteran of Longwood’s Board of Visitors who previously served a two-year term as rector, has been elected to a second term as rector. Radcliff, vice president of Kemper Consulting, a prominent Richmond-based lobbying firm, succeeds Robert S. Wertz Jr. ’85, who served in the role for the past year.

Eric Hansen and Lucia Anna “Pia” Trigiani were also named to leadership positions at the board’s annual retreat in June. Hansen will serve as vice rector, and Trigiani will continue her role as board secretary, a position she was tapped for last year. Hansen, of Lynchburg, is the CEO of Innovative Wireless Technologies. Trigiani, of Alexandria, is an attorney at MercerTrigiani, a real estate law firm.

Michael Evans, a retired commonwealth and city of Richmond official, also will serve on the executive committee.

On June 2, Gov. Terry McAuliffe appointed two first-time members to the board and reappointed Hansen and former rector Colleen Margiloff ’97 to second terms. Margiloff, of Rye, New York, served a two-year term as rector from 2014-16.

The new board members are

  • Nadine Marsh-Carter, of Richmond, president and CEO of the Children’s Home Society of Virginia, a nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, permanent families and lifelong relationships for at-risk children and youth.
  • Ricshawn Adkins Roane, of Great Falls, chief of staff for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, a private, independent foundation dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students with financial need.

The two new members will replace Wertz and Stephen Mobley ’93, of McLean, who completed a maximum two-term appointment to the board.

“I am so deeply grateful to Steve and Bob for the countless hours they have spent and the energy and expertise they have contributed to making their alma mater a better place for students, faculty and staff,” said President W. Taylor Reveley IV.

Of Radcliff, Reveley said, “Marianne’s love of Longwood is unmatched. She has been a strong leader on this board, as well as a great friend and mentor to me, and I am excited she is returning for a second stint as rector.”
