More than 1,600 enthusiastic students are proud owners of the 2014 edition of the Longwood scarf, received just before the fifth annual G.A.M.E. (Greatest Athletics March Ever). Nearly all marched in the yearly display of school spirit and community involvement that informally marks the beginning of each academic year.  [View the photos on Facebook]

At this year’s G.A.M.E. rally, plans were unveiled for the new Norman H. and Elsie Stossel Upchurch University Center, which will be constructed on the site currently occupied by the Cunninghamsresidence halls. Elsie Upchurch, a 1943 Longwood alumna who lived in the Cunninghams as a student, was on hand for the event. She provided the $4 million lead gift for the project.

Below is a social media compilation of this spirited annual event.
