Longwood Jazz Ensembles to present concert March 10

The Longwood University Jazz Ensembles will present a free concert Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Jarman Auditorium.

Jazz Ensemble B, directed by Andrew Brock, will perform music in various styles, including a rendition of the 1990s hit tune "Zoot Suit Riot." Among the soloists will be Craig Brooks, a freshman bassist from Prince Edward County, and senior saxophonist Keith Baldwin.

Jazz Ensemble A, in its 22nd year under the direction of Dr. Charles Kinzer, will perform music from the libraries of Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie and Miles Davis, among others. Student soloists include Tyler Gage, a junior trumpeter from Appomattox, and Cody Leonard, a sophomore saxophonist from Nottoway.
