Stephen Parker ’07 was named the executive director of the National Independent Venue Association, the national trade group representing music and comedy venues, festivals and promoters.

“We will work to ensure that music, comedy and live entertainment have a seat at the table for policymaking in D.C. and communities across the country,” Parker said when he was appointed in July 2023. “We also will work to forge the future of live entertainment, from boosting equity to bolstering the role of music and comedy in local economies.”

Parker, who received a master’s degree in policy and management from Harvard in 2022, was a history major at Longwood.
