SP 18 Snapshot

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is excited to unveil the Spring 2018 Community Snapshot. Longwood’s Greek Community did some pretty amazing things last spring, so we are happy to honor them!

This is the 121st year that Greek life has been on Longwood’s campus. In the spring, we had 708 active Greek members, which makes up about 20% of the student body. We also gained 195 new members!

Our Greek organizations truly showed their commitment to bettering the community and their passion for their chapter’s causes. They completed 6,435 service hours this past spring AND raised $13,739 for their respective philanthropy organizations.

However, with all of this, they still made time to focus on their grades! The overall Greek GPA was a 3.07! Sigma Gamma Rho had the highest chapter GPA.

Our leadership also made some big strides this year! In February, we had 14 Greek representatives attend the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values Conference. This was biggest group that we have ever sent!

Our Greek Honor Society, Order of Omega, also held a phenomenal Greek Week! Greek Sync was our highest attended Greek event of the 2017-2018 year! The society had 21 members!

It was a great spring for our community and we can’t wait for the amazing things to come this fall!
