In addition to serving as ID for accessing university facilities, the Lancer Card is a stored value campus debit card. It carries your meal plan, bonus dollars and Lancer CA$H account.

Add a meal plan or deposit funds, then use it on-campus at washers and dryers, drink and snack machines, Campus Dining locations, Longwood Printing Services, Greenwood Library, Longwood Mail Services and the Barnes & Noble Bookstore.

You can also use it at participating off-campus locations, including McDonald's, Sheetz, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pino's Italian Restaurant, Bojangles' and Subway.

How the Lancer Card Works

Add a meal plan and swipe your card to make purchases in any of the Longwood Dining locations.

Lancer CA$H is an additional discretionary account that can be used, after depositing funds, to make purchases on-campus at washers, dryers, vending machines, Longwood Dining locations, Longwood Printing Services, Greenwood Library, Longwood Mail Services, the Barnes & Noble Bookstore and much more.

You can also use Lancer CA$H at participating off-campus locations, including McDonald's, Sheetz, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pino's Italian Restaurant, Bojangles', Subway and many other locations in Farmville.

Cards are issued in the Lancer Card & Campus Services Office, Eason 204, from 8:15 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Lancer Cards and photos are the property of Longwood University and may be shared within the University for administrative purposes.

Card Types

Student Cards

A Lancer Card is required for all Longwood students and is required to be carried at all times while on campus. The card, which identifies you as a currently registered student, also entitles you to various other privileges and potential uses on and off campus.

Faculty/Staff Cards

A Lancer Card is required for all Longwood employees and is required to be carried at all times while on campus. The card, which identifies you as a faculty or staff member, also entitles you to various other privileges and potential uses on and off campus.

Vendor Cards

Anyone not affiliated with Longwood University but requiring access to university facilities will be issued a Vendor card. Access will be given between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. only. In the event that the card is not returned, a $20 lost card fee will be billed to the company or individual who checked out the card.

Contractor Cards

Any contractor on the premises of the University campus is required to carry a Contractor ID card while on campus. Contractor cards are $8.00 per card and can be picked up from the Lancer Card & Campus Services Office in Eason 205-A. Access will be granted on an as-needed basis. If you need a contractor card, please contact the Lancer Card & Campus Services Office prior to your visit to make arrangements. 


Lost Lancer Card Policy

If you lose your Lancer Card, you will need to deactivate it immediately so your card can be protected from misuse. You can do this in a variety of ways:

  • Mark your card lost online at Manage My Lancer Card.
  • Contact the Lancer Card & Campus Services Office at (434) 395-2715 during business hours Eason 204 (Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m.-4:00 p.m.)
  • After hours: Contact the Farmville Communications Center, (434) 395-2091. 

To reactivate your current Lancer Card, you will need to come to the Lancer Card & Campus Services Office in person. You will either need to present your current found card and we will reactivate it free of charge.

If you cannot find your current card, then you will need to have a new card printed. There is a $20 fee to replace your Lancer Card.  Once a new card is printed, the old card is deactivated and can be discarded if found.  The new card will allow you to have access to the same accounts and services as the previous card.

The university assumes no responsibility for illegitimate purchases from your account prior to your notifying the proper authorities that it is lost or stolen.

All customers wishing to use their meal plan or Lancer CA$H account to purchase goods or services must present their valid Lancer Card for payment. In order to protect your account, there will be no exceptions.
