A strength of the Longwood University Counseling Program is reflected in the breadth and depth of counseling experience of the faculty. We have all worked for many years as mental health counseling professionals across a range of settings with diverse groups of clients who represent a myriad of backgrounds and presenting concerns across the lifespan.

Many of us continue to work directly with clients to stay professionally connected. We also regularly attend and present at local, state, and national conferences to contribute to the profession in a broader manner and stay up-to-date about best practices in the counseling profession. We are also involved in research and service locally, regionally, and nationally. We strive to be models of well-rounded professional practice, leadership, and advocacy as it relates to client welfare, ethical practice, and counselor education.
