On Tuesday February 18th, Therapeutic Recreation Organization (TRO), the student organization for Therapeutic Recreation majors at Longwood, hosted Richmond-based adaptive sports organization Sportable, during their monthly meeting.

Sportable employees, Kyle Hizelberg and Amber Cowan, both Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) presented on the roles and responsibilities of being a sports program manager at the organization. They also discussed basics of adaptive sports participation for both children and adults from the introductory to Paralympic levels.

Students were able to trial adaptive sports equipment including a "quad rugby" chair and a racing chair.
