Essentially a lesson in personal finance, students save an average of more than $2,000 that they would spend at a university for the same class.

Online

The online class is self-paced so you can complete modules whenever you have time.

Credits

The three college credits earned are transferable to more than 800 universities nationwide.

Eligibility & Requirements

This course is available to high school students at participating high schools around Virginia.

GPA Requirements

Freshmen and sophomore students are required to have at least a 3.0 GPA and must have successfully completed at least Algebra 1.

Seniors and juniors, including rising juniors, do not have a minimum GPA requirement. 

Registration

Students and parents should complete the registration form to enroll.

It's three easy steps: 

  1. Sign up for access to the form
  2. Set your password using the link emailed to you
  3. Complete the application

Costs

Families are responsible for the $415 course fee and purchasing course materials.

Course Materials

  • Required: A $12.50 learning platform will be required for the course. Information to access and download the resource will be available when the course begins.
  • Optional: Textbook - “Personal Finance: Turning Money into Wealth” 6th-8th edition, Arthur Keown

Course Completion

Successful completion of the course will be communicated directly to the students’ high school counselors.

Since 2013, students enrolled in this course have passed the W!SE exam, achieving their high school requirement while also earning three college credits.
