Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA)

The Virginia Department of Education has contracted with the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson to create and administer the Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment, which measures the communication and literacy skills necessary to teach and communicate effectively with parents and others in the education community. The VCLA consists of two subtests—a reading subtest and a writing subtest.

College Verification Form

To request a college verification form to be completed by the Office of Teacher Preparation, please fill out and complete our request form.

If you would like your completed College Verification Form sent to your school division, please indicate on the form:

• School division name
• Contact name
• Email address

VDOE Licensing Forms & Information

Verification Process 

OTP will complete the CVF once final grades have been posted and the degree or endorsement is recorded on the academic transcript or upon receiving your CVF. Please allow 10-12 business days for processing.

Transcripts 

Order an official transcript from the  Registrar's Office. 

Transcript Request

You can choose to have your transcript sent after the degree or endorsement has been recorded to your home address or to the Human Resource Officer in your school division. If you choose to have the transcript sent to you instead of the Human Resource Officer in your school division, DO NOT open the transcript. Please include the unopened, official transcripts with your application to VDOE.
